A 12-BORE SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 10457,
circa 1900, 30in. bold damascus nitro barrels, the rib engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 13. CARR'S LANE. BIRMINGHAM.', and gold-inlaid '1' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, some pitting and dents, tip of under-rib missing, treble-grip action, toplever with a garland inset in gold with '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 14 5/8in. figured stock (some bruising) including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, weight 6lb. 13oz.
