for 1862 with conversion at the factory circa 1873, with round 5 1/2in. barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK US AMERICA', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, side-mounted ejector (rod replaced) and with blanked off rammer aperture, stepped and fluted cylinder, open iron frame with auxiliary standing breech and loading gate (hairline crack along loading channel), brass grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut grip, the whole cleaned of finish
