circa 1914, 26 1/8in. nitro reproved Parkerifled (lined) nitro reproved octagonal barrel (Birmingham proof for 1939/40), partialy file-cut top flat and engraved 'JAMES WOODWARD & SONS. 64. ST. JAMES'S STREET, LONDON. W.', open sights with two folding leaf sights marked at 100 and 150, bead fore-sight, the breech end marked '.250' and mounted with a Weaver B4 telescopic sight, action with carved teardrop fences, removable striker disc, non selective ejector, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the hand mounted with a folding adjustable peep-sight, best bold acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 5/8in. pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece and engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, Hackett snap fore-end with horn finial, weight 6lb. 6oz.
