commercially produced circa 1890 for the South African market, with 21 1/2in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, small elevating ladder rear-sight, London proofs, plain receiver stamped 'Z.A.R' in large letters on both sides, the left side also with the serial number in similarly sized numbers, walnut butt-stock, iron furniture, full-length military type walnut fore-end, two iron barrel-bands and provision for clearing rod (absent), the whole darkly stained
