with a 34 1/2in. barrel engraved 'METFORD'S PATENT 1508. GEORGE GIBBS CORN ST. BRISTOL.' (some shallow pitting), block-mounted adjustable aperture fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, receiver with Farquharson number 621, scroll engraved cocking lever with chequered thumb-piece, receiver and furniture profusely engraved with fine acanthus and with central 'GEORGE GIBBS - BRISTOL' in an oval to the left side, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 13 1/4in. figured chequered pistolgrip stock with engraved iron pistolgrip-cap, the heel of stock with base mount for a back position vernier sight, replacement brass heel-plate and chequered walnut beavertail fore-end
