A SCARCE 40-BORE FLINTLOCK POCKET-PISTOL, MODEL 'QUEEN ANNE', no visible serial number,
circa 1740, with turn-off 2 1/4in. London proved cannon barrel, moulded action body signed on the underside 'ANGLIN' and on the top of breech 'WEXFORD' (rubbed), London proofs, inverted and carved 'L' shaped frizzen spring, borderline engraved hammer, swollen bag-shaped butt with white metal oval escutcheon to wrist, short tailed white-metal pommel-cap with a stylised depiction of an angry bishop's head with mitre cap and sliding trigger-guard bow safety
