serial number on barrels only, 28in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2019, partially struck off, some internal pitting), the rib engraved 'F.A. BALES IPSWICH', 2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, treble-grip action, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 13 5/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap, weight 4lb. 10oz.
