A SCARCE .22 (L/R) SINGLE-SHOT RIFLE, MODEL '1885 HIGH-WALL MUSKET', serial no. 116619,
circa 1925, type 2 variation with round 28in. barrel roll stamped to the left hand side 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. PAT. OCT. 7 1879', folding ring and blade fore-sight, special micro adjustable folding ladder rear-sight, slab-sided receiver with trigger-guard forming the under-lever and operating the falling block and central hammer, top-tang stamped 'REG IN U.S. PAT. OFF. WINCHESTER TRADE MARK', and later drilled for a tang sight (absent), walnut butt-stock of carbine form, three-quarter length fore-end with single barrel-band, iron furniture including heel-plate, nose-cap and sling swivels
