A CASED .230 RIMFIRE POCKET REVOLVER, MODEL 'TRANTER'S PATENT', serial no. 1563,
circa 1885, with 2 1/2in. octagonal, sighted barrel (cleaned of finish), signed on the top flat 'COGSWELL & HARRISON, LONDON', scroll engraved brass frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT' above the number '1563', blued seven-shot cylinder with milled central band and spurred hammer, smooth rosewood grip with engraved brass butt-cap, spur trigger, together with its fine figured walnut fitted and compartmented case lined in blue baize with provision for an inlaid shield escutcheon to lid (absent), paper trade-label for Cogswell & Harrison and a cleaning rod
