A .50 (C/F) CENTRAL-FIRE SINGLE-SHOT SERVICE-PISTOL, MODEL '1871 ARMY', no visible serial number,
circa 1875, with tapering 7in. barrel, pinched blade fore-sight, sighting notch carved into top-edge of the rolling breech, central hammer, the left side of frame marked 'REMINGTONS ILION N.Y. U.S.A.' together with patents to 1866 and the letters 'P' and 'S', the right side plain, guarded trigger, smooth walnut flared grip and splinter fore-end, traces of finish
