French circa 1870, with plain blued 1 3/4in. six-shot barrel-cylinder with external ratchet locking, break-open colour hardened frame with signature to top-strap (rubbed, probably 'DEVISME A PARIS'), lift up locking latch to top of standing breech, double action mechanism with central hammer and exposed folding trigger, shaped chequered walnut grip with ejector rod concealed in the heel-plate, expertly refinished throughout
