A .442 (BOXER) FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION POCKET REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'BRITISH BULLDOG', serial no. 3771,
circa 1880 and almost certainly by Forehand & Wadsworth, USA, with nickel-plated ovoid 2 5/16in. barrel, nickel crescent fore-sight, 'bulldog' trademark to the left hand side of barrel throat, solid frame with sighting groove to the top-strap and also marked 'BRITISH BULLDOG', fluted cylinder, side loading gate, swing-out centrally mounted ejector and chequered hard rubber birdshead grips, much plated finish remaining
