probably Belgian or German circa 1880, with octagonal 26 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, provision for rear-sight (absent), colour-hardened borderline and scroll engraved receiver with dropping breech-block, quick release breech-block hinge, later top-tang adjustable peep-sight, walnut chequered half-pistol grip butt-stock (pin at head), iron furniture including heel-plate and complex spurred trigger-guard bow acting as the under-lever and plain walnut fore-end (possibly a working replacement), much original finish remaining
