A '0'-BORE SINGLE-SHOT BREECH-LOADING PUNT or BANK-GUN, MODEL 'SNIDER'S PATENT', no visible serial number,
circa 1880, with browned round slightly tapering 56in. laminated barrel, reinforced breech section with substantial swing-open breech-block locking on a lever and marked with both Jones's and Snider's trademarks, the underside of block signed 'Wm. JONES, BIRMINGHAM', back-action lock and moulded hammer (traces of colour), heavy teak half-stock with rounded tiller butt, exposed long folding trigger-blade with eyelet for lanyard release and spring-loaded swivel-mount forwards of the fore-end operating along a guide rail, much possibly original finish throughout
