circa 1865, with octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel signed by the maker and marked 'NEW MODEL', pinched blade fore-sight, solid frame with sighting groove to top-strap, six-shot plain cylinder, smooth walnut grips (some chipping at heel in antiquity), the left hand grip marked with a martial cartouche, brass trigger guard and hinged under-barrel rammer, 'W', 'G', 'S' and 'P' inspectors marks, traces of blued finish
