A 54-BORE PERCUSSION SELF-COCKING REVOLVER SIGNED VEISEY & SON, MODEL 'TRANTER'S PATENT', serial no. 2130,
circa 1853, with blued octagonal 6 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the border and scroll engraved top-strap, engraved band to muzzle, the top-strap also signed 'VEISEY & SON', scroll engraved barrel-throat, borderline engraved five-shot cylinder with rope-twist milled band to leading edge (traces of colour), borderline and scroll engraved solid frame with spurless hammer and fitted with Tranter's patent trigger-cocking mechanism (no. 44), chequered swept walnut semi saw-handled grip, moulded and engraved iron butt-cap and detachable borderline engraved 'Tranter's Patent' solid rammer mounted to the left hand side, strong amount of original finish throughout except where noted
