circa 1865-73, with octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, the top flat signed 'PATENTED SEPT 14 1858' and 'REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEWYORK U.S.A.' over 'NEW MODEL', crescent fore-sight, under-barrel loading lever, plain cylinder, solid frame with blued hammer, smooth walnut grips and plated brass trigger-guard bow, the whole retaining strong traces of original nickel-plated finish
