circa 1845, with 30 1/4in. octagonal browned barrel signed on the top-flat 'MANTON & CO.', bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with three additional flush folding leaves, squared breech (traces of colour), scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'MANTON & CO', sliding safe behind the scroll engraved hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including chequered pistol-grip spur to lower tang, single set trigger and replacement ramrod (incomplete)
