Swiss, circa 1852, with round 33in. rifled barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight with screw lock, the top of barrel marked with the number and a Swiss Canton shield, plain elongated top-tang, plain hump-back lock possibly signed 'MENTELER ZUG', plain walnut full-stock with 'roman-nose' comb, heavy iron hooked butt-plate, re-inforced trigger-guard tang, double-set triggers, finger-spur to the trigger-guard bow, iron roll-tipped nose-cap, iron under-barrel ram-rod with captive sliding ball-guides, socket to the right hand side of muzzle for a bayonet (absent) and iron sling swivels, finish cleaned, one barrel key absent
