first half of the 18th century, with round iron 9in. two-stage London proved barrel signed on the top near breech 'T. PROBIN', engraved band at the intersection, moulded band and sighting groove at breech, solid top-tang, curved and radiused lock with moulded border and pointed tail signed below the pan 'T. PROBIN', bridle-less frizzen, walnut full-stock (fore-end and underside behind ramrod throat replaced in antiquity), moulded and engraved bulbous butt-cap (small chip to edge), moulded brass trigger-guard with integral tang, carved sideplate formed with mythical masks and working replacement ramrod
