A BRITISH 1803 PATTERN INFANTRY or FLANK OFFICER'S SWORD WITH BLUE AND GILT BLADE, UNSIGNED,
circa 1805, with strongly curved single edged 27 1/2in. blade, the first three-fifths of the blade covered with gilded floral, royal and martial motifs on a blued ground, pierced and gilded boat-shaped cross-guard running into the gilded knucklebow further pierced with a Georgian royal cypher and terminating at the mouth of a finely moulded carved and gilded lions-head pommel, wire-bound sharkskin grip-piece and loose ring for knot, together with its original black leather scabbard (stitching undone) with pierced and gilded mounts (some mounts loose on scabbard, some wear and denting to gilding throughout) and complete with its bullion portapee knot (worn)
