A SCARCE .177 BREAK-BARREL AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'HEAVY GEM-TYPE', serial no. 57555,
possibly just pre World War One, with round 17 1/2in. smoothbore barrel, flat matted sighting plane with dove-tailed blade fore-sight and standing notch rear-sight, double 'U'-shaped locking catch to top of breech (jaws worn) with long sprung release lever along top of the slanted air-chamber, walnut butt-stock with iron heel-plate, cocking link forming the trigger-guard and adjustable trigger
