29 5/8in. black powder only bold damascus barrels, rib engraved 'E. & F.G. DODSON 14 UPGATE. LOUTH.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. choke in both, Thomas patent action, patent no. 324 of February 4th 1870, carved percussion fences, broad toplever, rebounding sidelocks with dolphin hammers, floral and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining much renewed colour-hardening, 14 1/4in. figured stock with engraved steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with early Anson push rod release, patent no. 953 of 1873, use number 454, weight 6lb. 12oz.
