25in. nitro chopperlump barrels with Churchill style rib, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'S' detail, removable striker discs, hand-detachable lockplates, gold-inlaid cocking indicators, articulated front trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, fully engraved with floral and acanthus scroll designs, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. stock, weight 6lb. 3oz., in its manufacturers cardboard carton with original proof certificate
Provenance: Mr Alan Haynes the current owner of this lot has provided us with the following information:
"I purchased the above side by side shotgun new in 1981 from Claytons in Bury St. Edmunds.
The gun was used on only a few occasions between 1981 - 1984 having been cleaned and properly stored after use, belying its 'as new' condition. My business interests following this period did not afford me sufficient time to pursue my sporting interests and so the gun has remained unused (save for the routine safety checks) until this time.
Whilst in use, the gun performed perfectly, not requiring any mechanical attention.
As my sons have no interest in shooting, I feel the time has come for my shotgun to be passed on to a person who will enjoy and make good use of it."
