ENGLAND.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke (No.1) and imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, (No.2), hold-open toplevers, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, blued cocking-indicators, replacement rolled-edge triggerguards, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the undersides engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. LONDON. ENGLAND.', retaining virtually full renewed colour-hardening and finish and the makers name inlaid in gold on the lockplates, 15 1/8in. highly-figured replacement stocks, replacement fore-end woods, weight 6lb. 11oz. in their individual lightweight leather cases with canvas outers and some accessories
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed in 1987 as double trigger guns. They also confirm that in 1998 both guns were re-stocked, new fore-end woods fitted, re-colour-hardened and the Purdey name inlaid in gold, all by the makers.
