A 7.63mm (MAUSER) SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL, MODEL 'C96' WARTIME COMMERCIAL or "BROOMHANDLE" PISTOL, serial no. 340508,
circa 1917, with 5 1/2in. nitro reproved sighted barrel, short extractor, rear-sight calibrated to 1,000 metres, hammer marked 'NS', frame marked 'WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR', thirty-four groove wooden grips, lanyard ring (reblued throughout), in non-matching number wooden stock holster (cracked).
