circa 1877, with nickel-plated 6 1/2in. barrel, the top-rib marked with patent dates to 1875 and terminating in 'REISSUE 1871', integral crescent fore-sight, fixed rear-sight notch to the barrel latch, automatic ejecting fluted cylinder, break-open frame, the right hand side inscribed 'L.E. BAIN', smooth walnut grips, provision for lanyard loop at heel (original broken off and absent), spurred trigger guard, the whole retaining a good amount of original nickel-plated finish
