circa 1890, with octagonal to round two-stage 34in. blued barrel, ramp fore-sight (dove-tailed blade absent), elevating tangent rear-sight with windage adjustment, the railed top-flat signed in gothic letters 'SCH. HURCHT' and in block letters 'ST. GALLEN', plain colour hardened Martini-type drop-ramp action, chequered walnut butt-stock (currently loose on action and chipped at head), the right hand side of butt inlet with a white metal plaque inscribed 'DEAN SALLMANN, AMRISWELL', heavy iron Swiss-style heel-plate, complex finger-spurred trigger guard bow forming the under-lever, double set triggers, three-quarter length chequered walnut fore-end, the colour hardened nose-cap with bayonet lug, iron under-barrel clearing rod and iron swivels '
