A 48-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED TRAVELLING-PISTOL SIGNED ANDERSON, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with blued 4in. barrel, engraved bands at the muzzles, carved imitation ribs, carved snails with low fences and screwed vents, border and scroll engraved side-hammer boxlock action signed 'ANDERSON' on the top-tang, finely chequered walnut bag-shaped butt with white metal engraved butt-cap and vacant oval escutcheon to wrist, guarded double-triggers and captive iron under-barrel ramrod, strong traces of original finish throughout
