A PAIR OF .650 (CARBINE) PERCUSSION OFFICER'S PRIVATE-PURCHASE BELT-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1845, with twist iron smooth-bore 7in. octagonal barrels, dove-tailed blade fore-sights and standing notch rear-sights, the top-flats signed 'TIPPING & LAWDEN LONDON', scroll engraved top-tangs, carved snails with moulded fences, flat borderline and acanthus scroll engraved bar-action locks, engraved dolphin headed hammers, walnut full-stocks with swept and chequered butts, domed iron butt-caps with central trap-doors, spured trigger guard bows, the left sides with provision for belt-hooks (one absent) and captive iron stirrup ramrods
