A 22-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SHOTGUN WITH WHITE-METAL EMBELLISHMENT, POSSIBLY SIGNED 'BLAS TIELER', no visible serial number,
Bohemian circa 1780 with later conversion to percussion, iron octagonal to round 35in. barrels, the top surface inlaid with repeated patterns of white-metal floral scrolls, the left breech possibly signed 'BLAS TIELER', the right possibly 'VON CHINGS', applied fore-sight bead, the rib-end at breech inlet with a large white metal engraving of a basket of flowers extending onto both breech-ends, broad border and sunburst engraved pointed top-tang, border engraved flat locks with nipple-bossed resting in the remenants of the original pans, the roller frizzen-feet converted into nipple safes, carved plain hammers, skip-chequered walnut half-stock bordered and embellished by white metal nails, bordered and lion-mask bosses applied around the top-tang with a further moulded lion-mask boss to the back of wrist, carved raised cheek-piece with white-metal pierced scroll-work panel, the right side of butt with inlet ebony and mother of pearl starburst, further pierced scroll-work panels both bordering and forming the toe and heel-plates, carved walnut trigger-guard bow and tang with en-suite decoration, inlet pierces scrolled panels to the fore-end, white-metal spiral-twist pierced ramrod pipes, iron ramrod, solid swivel pipe and carved sling button, losses and lifting to inlet decoration, small losses to lower tang and fore-end tip possibly re-modelled
