A 20-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, THE LOCKS SIGNED 'MANTON', serial no. 4447,
probably for John Manton circa 1805-6 and converted from flintlock, with twist-iron 29 1/2in. barrels, plain raised top-rib, plain breech-blocks (one side-bolster replaced), engraved top-tang with moulded centre, border and scroll engraved slightly curved locks signed 'MANTON' (detail rubbed), walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, stock extension in wood re-using the original heel-plate, later chequering to fore-end and period mahogany ramrod
