circa 1760, with round triple-staged 6in. cannon-muzzled barrel banded at the intersections, the breech deeply engraved with rococo and floral ornament and signed across the breech 'JOYNER', the underside with London proofs, maker's stamp and signed 'HOLBORN, LONDON', decorated hammer with carved border, semi rain-proof pan, carved frizzen-spring, walnut butt with bulbous grip, brass furniture including grotesque mask with tail, martial trophy escutcheon and pierced side-plate, sliding trigger-guard safety, the whole cleaned with some isolated pitting
