circa 1820, with large symmetrical crescentic heads fully etched and engraved with foliage inhabited by birds around central panels of various near eastern dignitaries, the decoration enhanced with niello-work, central square section spike, the iron shaft bound with reptile skin at the head and pommel and with traces of etched detail, 30 1/2in. overall
