AN EXCLUSIVE TOUR OF THE GREAT BUSTARD REINTRODUCTION PROJECT,
Based in Wiltshire the project has established a population of over 70 birds which is now self sustaining. The tour, for two people, will include visiting the main reserve, the aviaries and a behind the scenes look at the project as well as watching the birds in the wild. The tour may be taken at any time of the year, with the summer months being the most interesting. Timing and dates to be arranged with the GBG.
The Great Bustard is the largest of all the Game Birds and the heaviest flying bird in the world. Hunted to extinction during the 19th Century the magnificent bird is now re established in Wiltshire, where it has always stood on the County Coat of Arms and now features on the County Flag. The reintroduction project has been carried out by the Great Bustard Group, an independent organisation and registered charity.
