probably a Swiss Canton musket circa 1770, of Charville style with a brushed bright 42in. barrel, plain lock with brass pan (top of cock missing), walnut three-quarter stock with iron furniture, the butt inlet with a later large copper oval escutcheon marked 'AK 42', iron ramrod and complete with a period socket bayonet for same (no scabbard)
