A .75 (MUSKET BORE) PERCUSSION OFFICER'S 'MAN-STOPPER' PISTOL SIGNED D. EGG, CIRCA 1840, no visible serial number,
with 9in. Birmingham proofed barrel, the top engraved London and fitted with a swivel rammer hinged to muzzle, foliate engraved hook or break-off breach, back-action lock with engraved rope edging, the centre with foliate scrolls and signed 'D. EGG', the cock engraved en-suite, walnut half-stock with chequered bag shaped grip, iron spur trigger-guard and white metal nose-cap

Provenance: The retailer was probably John Egg son of Joseph Egg brother of the famous Durs, John Egg traded as Durs Egg from 1841 to 1865 at 4 Pall Mall Colonnade
